The food

After a lovely relaxing walk around the beautiful gardens, I was excited to see that the cafe had three different gluten-free sweet options, and a little savoury gluten-free snack plate too. The staff were very knowledgable when I asked about cross-contamination, and reassured me that their gluten-free cakes and scones arrive pre-packaged.

I had a fruity scone with raspberry jam and Rhoddas clotted cream (which was actually cheaper than the gluten-containing version!), and I was reassured that it would be kept separately in the kitchen. They even heated it up for me, and it was so tasty. It was so lovely to be able to have something safe unexpectedly, as I’m used to not normally being able to have a sweet treat on these occasions.

If you're local to East Ruston or visiting, I'd really recommend a visit to these lovely gardens!
